Slow-Cooker Stew

As a kid one of the best days of the week is coming home to the smell of grandmas slow-cooker stew. Now that I'm no longer a kid I gotta make it myself, but it so rewarding. Heres my twist on grandmas recipe.
Ingredients
- 1 lb bone-less beef, cubed
- 1/2 lb bone-in beef, cubed
- 1 1/2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon pepper
- 1 teaspoon basil
- 1 teaspoon oregano
- 1 teaspoon ground rosemary
- 1 teaspoon thyme
- 1 1/2 cups broth
- 2 carrots, sliced
- 1/2 medium turnip, cubed
- 2-3 potatoes, peeled & cubed
Instructions
- Start with cubing your meat (if brought pre-cubed depending on size might wanna make smaller) and vegetables.
- Add meat to slow cooker with only a tablespoon of broth (you can use any broth).
- Sprinkle meat with cornstarch and seasoning, mix/toss well.
- Add remaining broth to slow cooker, then vegetables, toss well.
- Set slow cooker for 6-8 hours on low or 2-3 hours on high (low well get more flavour)
- Serve with a bread/bun of choice for dipping (try my buttermilk biscuits).
